Why Bloomscroll
A cosmos to wander.
why i built it
I believe doomscrolling is bad for us. The reason is the design: an algorithm decides what comes next, knows nothing of what you meant to look for, and is built to hold your interest instead of serving you.
Bloomscroll is my alternative. I go there on purpose, come across a poem or a painting I would never have searched for, and learn a little about it. It takes intent, because I have to choose to spend the time there instead of doomscrolling.
I’m curious whether others would make that trade now and then.
what it is
A cosmos you can wander for as long as you like. Scroll gently and tap the stars. Some hold a painting, a poem, or a thought, and some simply drift away. Each piece comes with its title, maker, year, a short note, and a link to its source. Keep what you like, or return it.
Every piece is in the public domain or openly licensed.
what it keeps
No accounts, no feed, no score, no streak, no ads, no trackers, no analytics. What you keep waits in your blooms for the visit and is stored nowhere. The site remembers only two small settings on your own device: whether you’ve seen the keepsake hint, and your stillness choice.
Built with love.
The cosmos will be here tomorrow.
